How to Cancel AppleCare Protection or AppleCare+

NOTE ON REFUNDS:

There are a few important things to keep in mind when you cancel and return an AppleCare coverage plan:

  • If you cancel your AppleCare plan within 30 days of purchase, you’ll get a full refund, minus the value of any service already provided.
  • If you cancel your AppleCare plan more than 30 days after your purchase, you’ll get a refund based on the percentage of unexpired AppleCare coverage, minus the value of any service already provided. You can find the cancellation fee in the AppleCare product Terms and Conditions for your AppleCare Protection Plan or AppleCare+

Refund guidelines may vary in your region. Learn more about the Terms and Conditions specific to your product and country or region.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • The AppleCare agreement number from your Proof of Coverage certificate.
  • The serial number of the Apple device your AppleCare plan covers.
  • Your original sales receipt. If you bought the AppleCare plan and the device it covers directly from Apple, we might not need to see your receipt.

Submit your request:

Call Apple. Tell the Advisor that you need help with an AppleCare plan refund.

How To Cancel AT&T Mobile Insurance or AT&T Protect Advantage

Cancel Online

 
1. Click here to go to the AT&T website.
 
2. Log in to your account and go the My Wireless page (see image below).

3. Select the device with the protection Plan under My Devices & Features.

4. Click on Manage Device & Features and expand AT&T Mobile Protection Pack, AT&T Mobile Insurance or AT&T Protect Advantage (depending on which product you have) by clicking the See Features button.

5. Click Remove at the bottom of the AT&T Mobile Protection Pack (image below). 

6. Click the “Continue” action button to confirm plan cancellation.

Cancel by Phone

  1. From your AT&T phone, call AT&T customer support at 1-800-331-0500 (available 24/7).
  2. When prompted, say “Cancel my mobile insurance plan.”
  3. The system will guide you through the cancellation process.
  4. Confirm your cancellation, and you’re all set!

How to Cancel Verizon Phone Insurance (Verizon Protect)

Cancel Online

 
  1. Click here to go to the Verizon website.
  2. Log in to your account.
  3. Go to My Plan & Services, then Manage Products & Apps, then click Manage Your Products (see image below). 

4. Scroll to “Total Mobile Protection” and click the Remove from Account button in the upper right corner (see image below).

5. Click “Decline Equipment protection” to confirm your cancellation.

Cancel by Phone

 
  1. From your Verizon phone, call Verizon customer support at 1-800-922-0204 or by dialing *611 
    (6 am to 11 pm, Mon-Sun)
  2. When prompted, say “Cancel mobile protection plan.”
  3. Enter your account PIN for your protection plan.
  4. When connected with an agent, ask to cancel your mobile protection plan.
  5. For verification, you will be asked to enter your account password.
  6. Confirm your cancellation, and you’re all set!

How To Cancel Sprint Phone Insurance (Sprint Complete)

  1. Click here to go to the Sprint website.
  2. Click the “My Sprint” menu at the top of the page and then click “Add/remove services” (image below). 
 

3. Log in to your account. 

4. Select the lines that you want to remove the protection plan from. 

5. Scroll to Service Add-ons and click remove. 

6. On the Service Add-ons page, scroll down to “Service add-ons you already have” (see image below).  

7. Click “remove” next to Device Protection: Total Equipment Protection.

8. A pop-up will ask if you really want to remove this service. Click “Yes, remove.”

9. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Save” to confirm your cancellation. You’re done!

Cancel by Phone

 
  1. From your Sprint phone, call Sprint customer support at 1-888-211-4722 (available 24/7).
  2. Press “5” for other options.
  3. Press “3” for other options.
  4. Press “0” for other options.
  5. When connected with an agent, ask to cancel your insurance plan.
  6. Confirm your cancellation, and you’re all set.

How To Cancel T-Mobile Phone Insurance

  1. Click here to go to the T-Mobile website.
  2. Log in to your account.
  3. At the top of the page, click the “Plan” link.
  4. On the Plans and Services page, click “Change Services.”
  5. Scroll down to Premium Handset Protection.
  6. Uncheck the box for JUMP™ (image below). 

7. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Next.”

8. You’ll be asked to review the changes you’ve made. Check the box to agree to the terms and conditions, then click “Submit Changes” to confirm your cancellation.

Cancel by Phone

 
  1. From your T-Mobile phone, call T-Mobile customer support at 1-800-937-8997 or by dialing 611 
    (6am to 10pm, 7 days a week).
  2. Enter your mobile number.
  3. Say “Representative” to speak with an agent.
  4. For verification, you will be asked for the last 4 digits of your social security number.
  5. Tell the customer service agent that you want to cancel your insurance.
  6. Confirm your cancellation, and you’re all set.

How to Cancel Geek Squad Protection

  1. Call Geek Squad customer support at 1-800-GEEKSQUAD (433-5778) (available 24/7).
  2. When prompted, say “cell phone.”
  3. When prompted, say “cancellation.”
  4. When connected with an agent, ask to cancel your protection plan.
  5. Confirm your cancellation, and you’re all set.

How To Cancel SquareTrade Protection

Login to your SquareTrade account, go to the “My Warranties” tab, and select “Manage.” A number of tabbed options will appear below.

From here, you can use the menus to check the status of a particular Care Plan or see them all at once. You can also click on one of the tabbed options in order to cancel it.
